Elders And Angels has 3 different programs:

  1. Shared Living Program
  2. Transition Home or Unification Home for Children
  3. Specialized Support for Independence

SHARED LIVING

Our shared living program is tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with a primary focus on fostering community inclusion and shared living. At our program, residents can experience a sense of safety and belonging while enjoying the many benefits of community life.

Our residents are encouraged to develop essential life skills, such as cooking and financial management, with comprehensive training and support provided by our skilled staff. We strive to create a nurturing environment where individuals can learn and grow, ultimately helping them achieve their fullest potential.

Our homes are equipped with 24/7 staffing and are thoughtfully designed to meet the individual needs of each resident. Our goal is to provide a living experience that is tailored to the unique requirements of each individual, ensuring they receive the highest level of care and support possible.

At our program, we are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that encourages growth, learning, and community engagement for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

TRANSITION HOME FOR CHILDREN or UNIFICATION HOME

Elders and Angeles’ transition home for children has been intentionally designed to cater to the needs of children who are at risk of experiencing family violence or other life crises. Our organization is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for children, ensuring they are shielded from abuse and homelessness.

Our team comprises compassionate and empathetic staff members who have undergone rigorous training to support the children under our care. With 24-hour staffing, we offer various forms of assistance such as meal preparation, homework supervision, playtime, and personal care to meet the children’s everyday needs. We provide a school escort service, ensuring that the children attend and return from school safely.

As part of our commitment to cultural sensitivity, we endeavor to connect the children under our care with culturally appropriate resources to help them remain connected to their respective communities. At Elders and Angeles, we recognize that each child’s needs are unique, and we work tirelessly to provide them with personalized care and attention to foster their overall well-being.

SPECIALIZED SUPPORT FOR INDEPENDENCE

The residential program in question is specifically geared towards individuals who are grappling with a range of complex issues such as homelessness, substance use, incarceration, and mental health challenges. Our harm reduction program is strategically designed to provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment that meets individuals where they are and prioritizes their autonomy while minimizing harmful outcomes.

Our team of highly trained professionals is dedicated to offering psychological support to help residents navigate their unique circumstances. We offer evidence-based prevention strategies to promote healthy decision-making and provide the necessary tools to support individuals in achieving their goals.

It is important to note that sobriety is not a requirement for individuals seeking to benefit from this program. Rather, our approach acknowledges that change is a gradual process and that individuals must be met where they are in their journey towards healing and recovery.

At our residential program, we understand the importance of treating individuals with compassion and respect, while recognizing the interconnectedness of various issues. Our harm reduction approach is centred on empowering individuals to take charge of their lives and achieve their full potential, one step at a time.

Elders and Angels model of care represents a person-centered, value-driven approach that prioritizes the principles of healthy relationships, safe environments, and hands-on leadership. These principles form the foundation of our distinctive approach to care, emphasizing the importance of community, safety, security, relationships, self-determination, engagement, and meaningful living.

In our programs for persons with disabilities, we aim to promote and reinforce these principles through a focus on quality-of-life domains such as material well-being, physical well-being, personal development, self-determination, interpersonal relationships, social inclusion, and individual rights. Our commitment to these domains reflects our belief in the fundamental importance of empowering individuals to live fulfilling, meaningful lives within a supportive and nurturing community.
